Find Great Deals on high fiber dog food

What advertising lies can you think of that commercial/cheap dog food use to sell their brand?

Best one IMO…

"Contains high-quality grains for much-needed fibre"
Category fail: Food & Drink > Non-Alcoholic Drinks
Also, the adding of glucosamine in senior foods. There is so little that it will not actually benefit the dog.

The best thing anybody can do is to teach their children that advertising isn’t there for you to make informed decisions, it’s there to make the most money they can get. It always behooves us to do our own research. While an ad may (or may not) entice me to further check out a product, I would never blindly believe advertising.

    Everything on this site.

Particularly the top- "Premium, High Quality dog food for a happy, healthy dog!"

And note the ears of corn and wheat. They’re the "Wholesome grains for energy." Gross.

Alpo calls itself premium, too. And that it’s canned stuff is "100% Complete and Balanced." Yeah right.

The one that gets under my skin is Purina’s Dog Chow commercial that keeps saying "Dogs fed appropriate amounts of Purina Dog Chow lived an average of 2 years longer than other dogs."

It’s not really a lie – I’ve seen the study and it was very well done. And it’s true that the dogs lived 2 years longer and had fewer debilitating diseases of old age.

But what they don’t tell you is that the dogs that died sooner were ALSO fed Dog Chow. They were just allowed to eat as much as they liked. The study doesn’t prove Dog Chow is better than other foods – it proves that not letting your dog gorge and get fat on his dog food will keep him healthy regardless of what he eats. And I’m upset because they could have used this information in their advertising and still put their company in a good light (like "Purina did this research because they care," etc, etc). But they had to go and tell half-truths instead because their marketing department is full of soulless jerks.

I’m actually a fan of Purina as a company – I think they do a lot of good research and I think their Pro Plan and ONE lines are pretty good. I just detest their marketing scoundrels (. . . I mean, department) right now.

Bakers had one where there was loads of dogs in a space ship and it said something like ‘no dog doesn’t like Bakers’ or something like that.
So people think ‘ooh my dogs fussy, I’ll put him on that’

It only tastes nice because it’s full of CRAP and rolled in flippin caramel.

Putting Prebiotics in dog food. It’s all a bunch of BS.

Purina puppy chow and dog chow full of lies about their ingredients healthy dog dies after feeding this foods, and they still selling it it make me upset but what can i do? Iams also full of lies some part is dog meat in ingredients thank god i switch to other brand. I do not trust any other brand dog food and commercial dog food, I rather proof by vet if this product is good for my dogs and i make my own homemade food most of time and recommend by vet. my dogs are small and they only need to eat each 1 cup per day plus homemade treats. some dog food contained melamine omg! what is it are they trying to kill the dogs.melamine is made from plastic materials into dog foods.I hope they are not doing it anymore. this is major scary for precious animals feeding dry food.
I do not trust fully Wellness product either, Beneficial dog food too. all that non nutrients add to dog food. who knows later dog gets liver disease.

Science Diet: Superior Nutrition For the Lifelong Health Of Your Pet.

Really? If it was superior nutrition, I think maybe your first ingredient would be a meat instead of corn. They also claim their food tastes great. I beg to differ. lol

Have you seen the Beneful commercial?

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I mean, there’s nothing they can say truthfully that would make any sane person want to feed this to their dog..

Ground yellow corn, chicken by-product meal, corn gluten meal, whole wheat flour, animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), rice flour, beef, soy flour, sugar, propylene glycol, meat and bone meal, tricalcium phosphate, phosphoric acid, salt, water, animal digest…

I agree with the poster who mentioned using beautiful, show-quality dogs on the packaging and commercials. One of my biggest offenders is the Cesar dog–trust me, this Westie does not eat this stuff. If he/she did, this dog would be bald since most Westies have some really nasty skin allergies, many related to food.

It all boils down to the consumer needing to become educated and read the ingredient labels. Advertising and marketing exists for one purpose–sell the product regardless how crappy it is.
