wet dog food?

i know that wet foods can stick to a dog’s teeth but if i give him dental bones will it be ok?
i was reading the analysis which goes like this
protein: 11.7%
fat min 8%
crude fibre 0.8%
salt 0.1%
calcium 1.5%
phosphorus 0.7%
ash 3.4%
moisture 68%

as well as this
-fresh, homestyle goodness for all your dog’s life stages
-contains fresh meat with no by-products or additives
-high in protein with essential fats, vitamins and minerals
-promotes healthy skin, coat and general wellbeing
-easy to digest with a great wholesome taste

i’m happy to see there’s no by-products or wheats. it smells great and it isnt very wet, more solid and u can see all the natural ingredients. costs about .30 (little more than brands such as CHUM) but i think its worth it.
i just got a job so once i start getting money in, i will switch to a better brand of dry dog food (currently on pedigree natural) but continue to use nature’s gift because it looks great and he loves the smell of it, so do i!
thanks
so my question is, do u think this is a good dog food to feed my dog (mixed with dry food)?
no there is no full ingredient list on the can and none on the website either. whats on the can is on the website. but if it says no by-products, then obviously the ingredients should not mention by-products or wheat. it doesnt contain a lot of water (quite dry) and its australian made
and i do mix more dry food than wet food in. about one tablespoon and a half of wet food and a handful of dry food

I’m not a big fan of wet foods if the animal will eat dry food. Wet food is generally really bad, dental wise, you are also paying for a lot of liquid. That can is nearly 70% WATER! If you really want to feed it, why not feed a dry food, and as a tread mix some wet food in once a week. You should watch out what dental bones you give your dog. They love rawhide, but it doesn’t digest in their system and can cause blockages. Compressed rawhide is safer, but expensive, and still no nutritional benefits. Greenies or other dental bones can contain a lot of fiber, and too many will give you dog intestinal problems.

It would be more economical to skip the wet food for awhile and purchase a high quality dry food. It would be better if you could include a complete ingredient list. Not all labels put on food packaging means what you think it does. The food companies do that on purpose. They market towards humans.

Mix wet food with dry biscuits…and give him a dental bone once a day..or else its teeth will become bad…in a way.

Mix more dry food than wet food. To prevent dental problems down the road.

Do you have a complete list of the ingredients? What are the first 3 ingredients listed? These are things you have to take into consideration also!

I feed my 3 Pom’s both wet/dry and raw ~ inbetween their meals they are given a dental bone in the morning and snacks throughout the day ~ all are healthy, alert, very active ~ my eldest is 16yrs old and you couldn’t tell it by looking at him, believe it or not my dogs eat better than I do….

You can feed him with dry/wet feed mix. The important thing is be careful of the energy. Since I do not know how active your dog is I just can say that you should not feed him very high energy if he does not exercise. Besides you can use dental bones and you can also brush your dog’s teeth too.

we feed our dog home baked food as we believe it is better for her! we got the recipe of a good reputable breeder. i still believe that wet food is not great as it contains ingredients such as fish and peas which are both not good for dogs and it also contains alot of salt which is very bad! but if you intend to buy commercial food i suggest you buy dry food as it is healthier for them, cleans the dogs teeth, and their feices (poo) are less smelly. the only downside of feeding dry food is that your dog is likely to drink more so supply him/her with lots of fresh clean water!!!
