Healthy way to lose 10 lbs in 45 days? Info provided.?

I know this is very long. I included a description of my current "diet" and lifestyle as well as my goal (July 25th 2009). Please take the time to at least skim for parts that would be helpful in answering. Thanks!

Currently: I’m turning 22 next month. I’m 5′4" and this morning I weighed in at 134.8 lbs. That’s the most I’ve weighed in years. My current daily food intake is usually:

BREAKFAST– no breakfast at all OR an everything bagel (high in fiber & protein); Cereal always leaves me hungry an hour later.

LUNCH: I’ll either grab a taco from Taco Bell (bad… I know), or eat a Smart Ones frozen meal (Weight Watchers brand….), or a sandwich AND hard pretzles, apple sauce, maybe a cookie or granola bar.

DINNER: I make dinner for my husband and I every night. I try to be relatively healthy about it… nothing is fried, no Crisco, we use olive oil if needed, no margarine or butter, etc. We’ll usually do grilled chicken breasts or grilled pork chops, and a vegetable such as corn on the cob, steamed broccoli, salad, or asparagus. Usually a carb like cornbread, french bread, etc. Sometimes we make whole wheat pasta & jarred sauce… sometimes homemade pizza, sometimes soup.

Snacks & Sweets: I have a MAJOR sweet tooth…. especially during "that" time of the month… I eat at least one granola bar a day (usually Fiber One brand), sometimes we make cookies or eat ice cream for dessert.

**My husband usually works until 7:30pm, so we usually start eating dinner around 7:30 or 8:00pm. I think it would be rude for me to eat alone and just leave him with whatever is left over. Dinner is when we talk about our days and relax for the evening. It’s important to us. But I know it’s bad to eat late.

EXERCISE & REST: I usually get about 8 hours of sleep a night (11:30pm until about 8:00am). For the past 3 days, I’ve been taking my dog (chocolate lab/whippet mix) on brisk walks of 2 or 3 miles at a time. Either in the morning before it gets hot or after dinner when it starts to cool down. That’s the only exercise I’ve been getting… and that’s only been for 3 days now.

My Goal: I would like to get down to 125 lbs and drop a size or two by my birthday at the end of July. My husband and I will be going to Myrtle Beach and I’d like to feel comfortable in my bathing suit. My shorts from last year are a little snug (partially from weight gain– +3 lbs since then, and partially from shrinkage). I don’t want to buy new clothes until I am my goal weight.

My diet officially started today. I am trying to get pregnant, so I’m not going to use any diet pills or drugs to lose weight. Any suggestions for meals, exercise or lifestyle changes?? Thanks!
Any answers that are NOT advertisements to stupid websites would be most appreciated. Thanks.

You are not badly overweight- but you are slightly overweight. I would suggest adding circuit training and free weights to your routine. Also, among all the fast food places, Taco Bell is one of the better ones. You should eat something for breakfast everyday. Bagels are rather heavy in carbs.

As always, diet and exercise are the key.

You can try this for diet in the short term. Try eating 6 smaller meals a day with a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. A single serving of fruit for mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack. Dinner should be a sensible meal- minimize rice and breads. Try this for a two-week period. Then, vary your meals accordingly.

Workouts should have weights and circuit type of training. Free weights are great for toning and weight-loss. You can try dumbbell squats with shoulder presses. Here is a great and effective circuit training using a treadmill. Walk for 2 minutes (as a warm-up), jog for 2 minutes, run hard for a minute, then jog for 2 minutes, run hard for a minute, etc…do this for about 20-23 minutes. This works great.

By the way, do not be a slave to scale. Check the mirror also. It will show results.

This is just a start. Keep working out and eating properly.

    Good Luck.

Basically in my opinion, you should eat something in breakfast since it is the most important meal of the day. You must eat dinner less. For fast effect, eat vegetables more. Eat fried foods less. You also have to cut down your sweets. If you can’t resist them, you can eat once every 3 days, but only a few, still. Your lifestyle is not bad at all. If you follow what I stated here along with your life style, you will weigh less in one week.

P.S. I’m sure that this’ll work because I lost almost 15 pounds because of these things that I posted with the combination of exercise.

    Hope this’ll help!

It sounds like you don’t eat that bad. How many calories do you get a day? If you don’t know you really should. It may surprise you to know how many you are getting. Try cutting down on your portion sizes. Something that I highly recommend is eating breakfast. That is 100% the most important meal of the day. Even if you eat something small it’s better than eating nothing. If you get hungry a little later just eat a Fiber One bar to hold you over until lunch.

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
